The 2010 version of “We are the World” had already been viewed more than 8 million times Wednesday, five days after its release.

The video by ‘We Are the World- 25 for Haiti’ made its debut on Friday, during the NBC coverage of the Vancouver Winter Olympics opening ceremony. That was a shortened version, though, due to time constraints.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the extended version of the video of the song produced by Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones had been watched on YouTube 8,253,534 times.

The song can be watched for free on the popular video sharing site, but the celebrities in the video encouraged people to purchase the song via iTunes or to donate through the world25.org website.
